Raciraft (or RACIraft) is a medicine used to treat acidity, heartburn, indigestion, and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
It is available as an oral suspension (liquid) and chewable tablets and works by:
- Neutralizing stomach acid using antacids like calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate.
- Forming a protective gel-like barrier (or "raft") using sodium alginate that floats on top of stomach contents. This barrier helps prevent stomach acid from flowing back up into the esophagus (food pipe), which is the cause of heartburn and acid reflux symptoms.
This dual action provides rapid and lasting relief from stomach discomfort, burning sensations in the chest or throat, bloating, and sour burps.
